Cartier Optical Inc. is the oldest retail optical establishment in Old Saybrook, serving the area for more than 44 years. We are an independent optical store run by Cartiers. Your eyewear is processed on the premises, by licensed opticians, which gives us total quality control.
Cartier Optical was started in Old Saybrook on the corner of Main Street and Route 1 by Ernest Cartier Sr. in 1972. His son, Ernie Jr. joined Cartier’s in 1976. Pam Cartier has been with Cartier Optical since 1983. You will always find the same familiar faces at Cartier’s.
Cartier’s is a full service optical establishment which offers eye exams in Old Saybrook, CT by our independent optometrist, Dr. David MacDonald. You will not be screened by a technician, but rather an excellent and experienced Old Saybrook, CT eye doctor. Dr. MacDonald performs the entire eye exam, which includes a complete vision screening, cataract and glaucoma check. Diabetic eye exams are also performed. Dr. MacDonald participates with most major insurance. Please call us to see if he is a provider for your insurance. We would be happy to check for you.
We have been at our new location, 266 Main Street, since August of 2007. You can still find us on Main Street, just a little further down the road. The one thing that has not changed about our Old Saybrook, CT eye care center is the quality and individual attention you will receive whenever you come for a visit. Let us take the time to listen and help select the best prescription eyeglasses, designer sunglasses, contact lenses, and other stylish eyewear options to fit your lifestyle.
